Arrest That Fat Police Officer- Minister Rebecca Kadaga Tells IGP

The Minister for East African Community Affairs, Hon Rebecca Kadaga, has called upon the Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola to arrest a police officer seen beating an old woman in a video. A furious Kadaga through her Twitter page referred to this officer as fat.

This is after a video was uploaded by Ugandan US-based journalist, Bahati Remmy. A Uganda Police Officer can be seen caning an elderly woman just for fun. This is as these police officers were enforcing some guidelines.

The elderly woman wasn’t even trying to resist this officer’s orders but he went ahead to flog her. And his colleagues did nothing to restrain him as they watched along .

“Inspector-General of Police, can you take action against this Fat Police officer who caned a Woman who was not even resisting his instructions , @Okothochola11,” Kadaga tweeted alongside the video.

Shockingly, this officer died after his heinous act. This sad incident was confirmed by journalist Daniel Lutaaya who said that the officer identified as Sam Okiror died of hypertension soon after caning the lady.

“He is Sam Okiror. The lady he was beating was a 65-year-old woman and in the video, he says Go home you wicked woman after beating her while laughing. Shortly after beating this woman, Okiror died of hypertension. Karma is a female dog,” Lutaaya tweeted.

This is not the first time that security forces are called out for such repugnant behavior. The level of impunity showed by these forces has become intolerable. These harass the same people they are supposed to protect.

They are also always looking for for the slightest of mistakes to inflict their terror onto the people. Despite the numerous calls from the public, human rights agencies and the President, these have been adamant to amend their behavior.
