Arsenal Reach Agreement To Sign Espanyol Goalkeeper Joan Garcia

English Premier League side Arsenal have verbally agreed to sign Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia. The Gunners want to sign the Spanish goalie to replace Aaron Ramsdale.

The Englishman goalie seems like he won’t be returning to Arsenal any time soon.

Ramsdale, who was signed from Sheffield United by Mikel Arteta in 2021 seems to have fallen out of favour at the Emirates. He spent most of the time last season on the sidelines making just a handful of appearances.

This season Arteta has already expressed that David Raya will be his number one choice. The Spanish shot-stopper saw his loan move from Brentford made permanent by Arsenal.

It’s expected that Ramsdale might make a move from London in the remaining ten days of the transfer window.

Several clubs have made contact with the 26-year-old. However, it’s believed that Wolves look like the front runners to sign him and have made verbal contact with Arsenal. Meanwhile, the Gunners on the other hand are yet to contact Espanyol about Garcia.

“Arsenal have already reached a verbal agreement with Spanish GK Joan García on personal terms. He’s the priority target for Arsenal to replace Aaron Ramsdale if he leaves in the final 10 days. Espanyol are aware of #AFC interest but no official bid yet, depends on Ramsdale.”

Apparently, Ramsdale is a contender for the England number one spot. However, Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Newcastle’s Nick Pope are ahead of him in pecking order.
