This is after he was asked to choose between Arsenal and AS Monaco prior to their Champions League clash last night.
The two clubs share a lot of history between themselves which includes Thierry Henry and the legendary coach Arsene Wenger. Meanwhile, the former French striker had his formative years as a player in Monaco before he moved to Juventus and finally Arsenal.
He said that he’s got massive respect for the French side as well as other clubs that gave him an opportunity. However, none comes close to Arsenal when it comes to love and loyalty.
“I have always said that I have a lot of respect for all the clubs that gave me an opportunity including Monaco. They took me on as a player as well as a coach. In Spain, I say that Barcelona is my club but Arsenal is my love. It’s number one, two and three,” said one of the greatest players to ever play in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side beat Monaco 3-0 with Bukayo Saka netting a brace and recording an assist. The game saw the Gunners jump to 3rd on the table with 13 points with two games to go. They only need to win one game to confirm their participation in the knockout stages.
The Gunners will now turn their attention to the Premier League on the weekend as they host Everton at the Emirates.
