He has however on numerous occasions clashed with his followers. This was the case as he got roasted by his Twitter followers after he appeared to excuse a security officer’s ill actions.
The said officer kicked Vision Group’s journalist Lawrence Kitatta. Kitatta had been covering the demonstration of the ongoing fracas between the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Among’s supporters and those of Mityana Municipality MP, Hon Francis Zaake.
However, Kasingye saw nothing in what the officer did. He in fact said that the journalist tried to grab the officer’s firearm.
Kasingye added that security officers are taught to protect their weapons as rule number one. Therefore the freedom of journalists doesn’t evolve around grabbing firearms from officers.
Look at the hand of the journalist. Canary, in your work, have you ever tried to touch or grab the rifle of a soldier or police officer? Please, know that they are trained to protect their weapons. It’s rule number one. Freedom of journalists does not include grabbing weapons. https://t.co/PFMm4yllbc

This comment angered his followers who told him to always restrain from tweeting when he doesn’t have the entire facts.
“Afande this time I hope it’s better you restrain from this issues because all tweets you have made about it, you are missing a point. Grabbing the gun through the legs of another man, is it logical?”
“What you missed while training as a police officer is interpreting photos.. It’s not for everyone though!! It’s high time you trained your men in uniform more to desist in such acts. Cause in future sanctions to most institutions in Uganda will be a norm thus it’s too much Now.”
Kasingye in one of the replies to his followers said that once anyone aims at his gun, he will do anything to protect himself and the weapon.
However, in the video, the journalist never made any attempt to grab the gun from the officer.
