Assailant Disguised As Madman Shot Security Guard And Stole His Gun – Police

The police has revealed new details about last week’s shooting in Luwero district in broad day light. Apparently, the man who killed the police officer and stole the gun disguised himself as a madman to monitor the guard’s movements.

The security guard attached to SGA Security Group had been guarding Advance Micro Smart Microfinance Office in Wobulenzi Town Council. An assailant shot him dead during the mid-hours of the day and later vanished into thin air after robbing the gun.

However, the police have now revealed that the assailant first disguised himself as a madman before he attacked.

“The assailant pretended as a lunatic with a bag of rubbish. However, the bag had a gun that he pulled out and shot the security guard dead. He later robbed the gun of the security guard and put the two guns in the back and vanished,” Enanga said.

He further explained that the assailant targeted this guard because of a Semi-Automatic Rifle(SAR) he possessed. This rifle is apparently a new and upgraded version of the ones most security guards have today.

Enanga said that criminals want these new rifles because the magazine can be expanded from just three bullets to 30 bullets. This, therefore, makes the new rifles ideal for criminals because they can carry more ammo.

He cautioned security guards to be more cautious while in possession of such weapons because they are now targets.

The development comes against the backdrop of attacks on security personnel for guns by unknown assailants.
