Security Guard Punched To Death By Student

A security guard at Luzira Secondary School was punched to death by a student on the 25th October 2022. According to Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police Spokesperson, Geoffrey Mugerwa, 22 a security guard was hit by Duncan Byambala, a senior four student following a scuffle that ensued at the school gate.

Apparently, students wanted to go home after finishing their papers during the morning hours. The security guard advised them to wait for authorities to issue them out as the school policy requires which the students refused to adhere to. It was after this that a fight started and the guard was punched. The guard was rushed to a nearby dispensary, St. Stephen Luzira, where he was pronounced dead. The body of the deceased is currently at City mortuary Mulago.

Investigations are already underway to know what really happened. Unfortunately though, the student in question is on the run but the police is doing everything to locate him.

Statements have been recorded from eye witnesses of this crime. This government aided school has been having a lot of discipline cases even around the community of Luzira but not much has been done.

At some point, it had a gang stealing from the community and fellow students. This time round, it has been over board because a life has been lost in the matter.
