Bad Black Starts Rehabilitation Programs For Prostitutes In Uganda

Retired sex worker and ex-convict Shanita Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black seems a really transformed woman. The faded socialite has revealed her plans of starting rehabilitation programs for all prostitutes in Uganda.

According to Bad Black, the hurdles these women go through to make it in life pains her.

Some earn peanuts, get infected with STD’s and other even get pregnant. Harsh working conditions are also another hindering factor to their job.

Bad Black said that she knows a lot of hands-on skills which she can teach to these sex workers to better their lives. And for those who got infected with STDS, she will advocate for them to receive the necessary medicines.

“There is nothing like a prostitute, the word is sex worker. I see so many of them undergoing a lot of problems. Therefore, I call upon them to come and join me and leave the streets. I know a number of vocational skills such as knitting mats, table mats, sewing, weaving among others. I learnt all these from Luzira prison.

We can look for business companies to sell our ideas to and become self-sustainable. For those who are infected, but don’t know where to start from, I pledge to help them get medication,” said Bad Black.

Further, she thanked the Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Among for being able to think about the girl child and women.

According to Bad Black, the speaker has put in place initiatives to help addres challenges faced by the female. She also called upon the First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni to join in this fight to champion women’s plight.

She also advised those out there who look up to her especially her former life to quit that. Bad Black said that she doesn’t have anything that gives her fond memories in the life that brought her to the public eye.

She revealed that despite being a mother of 4, she carried out a number of abortions. This is a thing she’s not proud of and wished she could go back in time and make things right.

Bad Black came onto the public scene in the early 2011’s together with another socialite Meddie Ssentongo. She became famous for bedding a number of male celebrities after paying them huge sums of money.

These included among others singer Rabadaba, footballer Eric Obua and Nigerian singer Mr Flavor.

Luck however ran out for her when she was convicted of fraud by court after her Zungu lover David Greenhalgh sued her. She was consequently sent behind bars at Luzira prison for 4 years.
