Balaam Asks Bobi Wine To Release List Of Arrested NUP Supporters

The State Minister for children and youthaffairs in the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi has asked National Unity Platform (NUP) President Bobi Wine to release a list of arrested NUP supporters.

He promised that whatever happens, those people are going to be released and very soon.

Balaam was appointed Minister last week and upon being sworn in, he said his first agenda is to get NUP political prisoners released. Most politicians have promised that and no one has ever fulfilled it.

A few were released and there are some that are still missing up to date. The police say they don’t know where they are and if they knew, their family members would be informed immediately.

Despite all being said, Balaam said he is determined to get those people released and the only thing he wants are the names of the missing people.

“I call upon the National Unity Party President Bobi Wine, and other party leaders to provide the list of all members who are claimed to be arrested wrongly minus the murder suspects. I give you my word, they will be released,” he said.

It should be noted that Bobi Wine spoke about this issue yesterday. He said he is not going to beg President Museveni to release NUP supporters. They are supposed to be free because they didn’t do anything wrong to end up in prison.
