This left some people like Balaam Barugahara planning to contest this announcement. The General said that after 28 years, he had decided to hang up his guns.
After 28 years of service in my glorious military, the greatest military in the world, I am happy to announce my retirement. Me and my soldiers have achieved so much! I have only love and respect for all those great men and women that achieve greatness for Uganda everyday.
— Muhoozi Kainerugaba (@mkainerugaba) March 8, 2022
This did not go down well with most Muhoozi addicts and some of these include events promoter Balaam Barugahara.
Balaam took to his social media saying that after second thoughts, people shouldn’t be celebrating Muhoozi’s retirement. This is because he’s still a young military officer and one of the most productive ones.
Balaam then proceeded to announce that they were going to seek permission from the IGP. This was in order to demonstrate the First Son’s decision to retire at such a young age.
“On a Second thought, we shouldn’t celebrate the early retirement of one of our youngest & most trained Officer @mkainerugaba. As peace-loving Ugandans, we shall seek permission from IGP to permit us to hold demonstrations in all Major cities to force MK back to UPDF. Finish the Tasks,” Balaam said.
However, after thorough cross-checking, facts indicate that Muhoozi is not retiring from the army any time soon.
He said that after 28 years he was retiring but since he joined the armed forces in 1999, it means he’s only served 22 years.
Therefore it means he will be retiring in 2027 when the 28 years he announced fill up. Many had started speculating with many conspiracy theories up in the air.
Some assumed that the infamous Muhoozi project of him taking over power from his father was to soon start taking ground.
