Barrack Obama Pays Tribute To Music Mogul Quincy Jones

The former US President Barrack Obama took time off his busy schedule yesterday to pay tribute to music mogul Quincy Jones. A popular figure and one of the pioneers of Black entertainment in Hollywood, Jones passed away yesterday aged 91.

Barrack Obama said that for a long time, the legendary record producer produced works that were plausible to all kinds of people. Almost every hit record and film had his name engraved on it.

On top of that, his music appealed to listeners from every race and age. He also paved the way for other black entertainers to leave their mark in the entertainment industry.

Read his statement below;

“For decades, Quincy Jones was music. From producing Thriller to composing the score for The Color Purple, to working with Frank Sinatra to Ray Charles. It seemed like every big record – and every big film – had Quincy’s name on it. His music appealed to listeners of every race and every age. And by building a career that took him from the streets of Chicago to the heights of Hollywood, Quincy paved the way for generations of Black executives to leave their mark on the entertainment business. Michelle and I send our thoughts to Quincy’s friends, family, and everyone who has lived their lives to his songs.”

Apparently, Quincy Jones produced some of the most selling albums in music history. These included three from Michael Jackson, namely Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad.

He was also the brain behind the song ‘We Are The World’ where very famous artists at the time such as MJ, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rodgers, and Michael Bolton among others collaborated on. They raised funds that were donated to end famine in Ethiopia.

Furthermore, Quincy Jones also won numerous awards for both his works in the film and music industry. He leaves an indelible mark both in Hollywood and the black entertainment circles.
