Bebe Cool Responds To Bobi Wine’s Criticism Of Musicians Who Met Gen Salim Saleh In Gulu

Musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool took to his Facebook page to write a lengthy reply to his musical nemesis Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine had earlier too wrote another lengthy statement criticising musicians who had gone to meet Gen Salim Saleh in Gulu. These musicians were led by Dr Jose Chameleone. Their goal was to see how the government can best support the music industry.

Bobi Wine however felt that these musicians had reduced themselves to beggars. He said these musicians were a disappointment to their fans because they had accepted to be used by the government.

In his post, Bobi Wine also said these artists were too blind to see that the government was just suffocating the music industry. He wondered how a person like Gen Saleh who has nothing to do with the music industry could be its overseer.

What Bebe Cool said in reference to Mr Bobi’s statement.

However, Bebe Cool feels that Bobi Wine made his post out of ignorance and jealousy. The Gagamel boss said that not every artist who went to Gulu met Gen Saleh.

Bebe Cool added that musicians in Uganda belong to the creative arts industry under different associations. He said that 80% of the stakeholders in the industry live outside the money economy.

It was, therefore, necessary for these artists to meet the general and discuss how best to assist the industry. Bebe Cool said that he himself has met both Gen Saleh and the President before.

“I, therefore, want to correct my young brother Bobi Wine on his ignorant post that whatever funds artists get from the general are not handouts but rather entitled financial relief.” Bebe Cool said.

Bebe Cool thanked all the artists who met the general and encouraged them to continue engaging the government. He added that this will help to find the right solutions for the industry.

“Anyway, I know you have always seen artists meet Gen Saleh. But you chose to post negatively this time because it was not just artists meeting Gen Saleh but rather Dr Jose Chameleone who is your direct lifetime music competitor.” Bebe Cool posted.

He advised Bobi to stop politicking because that period ended on January 14th.
