Bebe Cool Reveals Why He Was Chased From Enkuuka

Singer Bebe Cool has opened up on why he no longer performs at Buganda Kingdom’s Enkuuka annual festival which happens every 31st of December. This is organized by events promoter Abitex in conjunction with CBS radio.

This same concert happened on New Year’s Eve and quite several singers performed there. However, Bebe Cool wasn’t and has been so for the past couple of years. The Wire Wire singer said that he no longer performs there because the event was politicized.

Additionally, he said that he used to perform there and always made the Kabaka very happy. However, at one time after being paid to come and perform, an official from Mengo said that he shouldn’t dare step at Lubiri.

Shockingly, the reason behind this ban was that he’s an NRM supporter and was told to go to Entebbe. Bebe Cool also blamed Bobi Wine and Abitex for this.

“Enkuuka was politicized and that’s why I no longer perform there. I used to sing there and would always leave the king smiling. However, one time an official told me not to step there and instead go and sing in Entebbe. My crime, supporting NRM,” he said.

He also called out those who pelted bottles at Western Uganda singer, Ray G. While singing at Enkuuka, the Omusheshe singer had flying objects thrown at him.

This is from his ongoing clash with Azawi in Mbarara. According to Bebe Cool, this is down to these singers’ ego and people should stop tribalising it.
