He was found in Dubai on his way back to Uganda and driven back to Abu Dhabi.
It’s said that during his performance in Abu Dhabi, Beenie Gunter had some misunderstandings with the promoters that had booked him.
A fight erupted and some property at the venue was destroyed. As the main performer, he was accused of being the reason for the fighting. The singer was asked to pay for the damaged property but he didn’t have the money at that time hence ending up behind bars.
His fellow artistes have been trying so hard to push for his release via social media. Eddy Kenzo said he was getting in contact with the ambassador of Uganda in Abu Dhabi to make sure Beenie Gunter gets help and returns to the country safely.
According to sources in Abu Dhabi, Beenie Gunter is finally out on police bond. However, he can’t return to the country yet. He will need to be in Abu Dhabi until his case is fully closed.
It should be noted that a number of Ugandan celebrities have been detained in the UAE for various reasons. Fik Fameica, Bobi Wine among others have all spend time in Dubai jail cells or airport detention centres.
