The Tubayo singer that it all started after he tried to de-escalate a fight between promoters. They were in a car and had already paid him. However, cameras caught him in the situation mistaking him for having been an active participant in this fight too.
Two weeks later, he was arrested in Dubai despite the incident happening Abu Dhabi. He was flown back to where the incident happened and jailed.
According to Beenie, prisons there are not as bad as in Uganda. The food is always there and it’s good but the only problem is too much coldness caused by a lot of AC. When it came to those who helped him, he mentioned a couple of artists who contributed to his release.
These were Bobi Wine, Eddy Kenzo, Pallaso, among others. This money helped him to get bail. However, when it came to being released, the court asked for 9.8m shillings.
In this case, no artist helped him. It was rather his family that gathered and collected the money that finally got him out of jail. Eventually, the singer returned home to his family last week.
“It was mistaken identity in the fight because I wasn’t actually fighting but rather de-escalating it. I was even arrested two weeks later as I returned to Uganda at a Dubai airport. Prisons there are good and not as bad as here. A number of artists helped with some money such as Pallaso, Bobi Wine, Eddy Kenzo among others. But for the actual money that got me out, it was around 9.8m Shs which was paid for by my family.”
