Benon And Vampos Compliment MC Kats’ Bravery

Singers Vampino and Benon Mugumbya known as Benon and Vampos from their earlier stage name have come out to compliment NBS After 5 presenter MC Kats’ bravery.

This is in relation to his coming out as an HIV positive person and going ahead to use his position to create awareness against HIV stigma and discrimination.

While speaking about Kats, Vampino of the Benon and Vampos group said that he grew up with the self-styled king of the mic. The smart wire singer said that Kats has always been consistent with his line of work.

Vampino added that he respects Kats because he’s a responsible father despite the struggles he’s been through.

“MC Kats is consistent and has always been part of musicians. We grew up together on the streets and every time we link up, we talk as brothers. One time when he smoked weed and it really did him bad. I told him he shouldn’t do it again because basically, we are tight. I even blame myself that he got sick but I’m in awe of him because of his mental strength. He’s continued to be a responsible father despite all he’s been through,” Vampino said.

Benon who was Vampino’s singing partner in the 2000s also had compliments for Kats.

The Swangz Avenue boss said that Kats has always exuded positivity.

“Kats has been here for ages, and he’s one of those guys who used to speak positivity in our lives. There was a certain kind of energy you would feel when he was the one introducing you on stage. I respect him for the road he has embarked on,” Benon said.

Kats has been in the news for good reasons over the past few days following his ambassadorial role with the Uganda AIDS Commission.

From being endorsed by the President, Kats has been applauded by a number of people for deciding to use his position to create HIV awareness.

The self-styled king of the mic has strengthened his efforts in the fight against HIV stigma and discrimination.
