Betty Nambooze Advises President Museveni On The Use Of Social Media Media

Mukono Municipality Mp Hon Betty Nambooze has come out to advise President Museveni on how to use social media.

This comes after the President ordered a crackdown on all those who had announced him dead a few weeks back.

Mr Museveni while addressing a crowd last week ordered police to track down all those that had announced him dead.

This was because it had raised unnecessary commotion and worry among people.

However, the outspoken legislator feels that this is being too authoritarian.

The President should instead use the policies and regulations handed out by these social media companies.

Nambooze said that the reason such people as announcing him dead is because the whole country is insane.

“If someone annoys you on social media, simply unfollow/unfriend/delete them. It is terrible to announce you dead.

The reason why people announce others who are alive dead is because the whole country is insane.” Hon Betty Nambooze said while appearing on NBS Frontline program.

Hon Patrick Nsamba who was in the studio too said that these announcements are made by youths who feel the president is very old and should retire.

The opposition Mp said that everyone at one time has been announced or their people declared dead.

It’s a common phenomenon that the President shouldn’t have fussed over.

He added that the arrests he ordered are just a cover up to arrest those who do not support him.

The RCC of Kampala who was a guest in the studio however said it was wrong and immoral for people to announce the President dead.
