Promoters in Uganda have their federation and Abitex was their president. When they had issues they dropped him and chose now minister Balaam Barugahala as their president.
Abitex was very angry and refused to step down because he had been in the industry way longer. He even said that it was his idea to start a federation but they went behind his back and removed him.
With all that is going on, Biggie Events said she doesn’t know who the president is. She said she can see herself as the president and she is ready to start putting in the work of a president.
“I am the president of promoters in Uganda. I know people are going to believe in me because I have leadership skills and I know all will be well. Those who call themselves presidents haven’t done anything. I think it is my time to take over and I know fellow promoters are going to support me,”
Biggie Events is now one of the few female-known promoters in Uganda. The industry is male-dominated but she has done a good job to keep her name above the men.
