Real names Kalema Kevin born on 19th May 2005, at Mulago Hospital, Boba Ray grew up in Bukasa Muyenga, surrounded by a community rich in culture and rhythm. From an early age, he showed an affinity for music, a passion that grew stronger during his primary education at St. Henry’s Muyenga Primary School.
It was here that his love for rhythm and melody began to flourish, as he participated in school music events and talent shows that nurtured his budding talent.
Boba Ray’s official foray into music began in 2019, shortly after completing his primary education.
Inspired by the sounds of Afrobeats, Afro-pop, RnB, and Dancehall, he started creating music that resonated with audiences, earning him recognition as a versatile artist with a unique sound.
His early experiments with songwriting and beat production revealed a natural talent that set him apart from his peers, and his dedication to refining his craft became evident as he tirelessly worked to hone his skills.
Despite the challenges of balancing his education and music career, he remains committed to both pursuits, proving that determination and passion can coexist. With a growing fanbase and an unwavering drive, Boba Ray is on his way to becoming a household name in Uganda and beyond.
His infectious slogan, “Blown Boy Boba,” symbolizes his ambition and vision for his career, reminding fans that he’s just getting started.
