Bobi Wine Asks Europeans To Stop Funding Museveni

On Wednesday, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, the leader of top opposition party NUP, delivered a speech about human rights situation in Uganda currently.

He delivered the speech at the Geneva Human rights convention summit in Switzerland.

His speech covered a number of topics which included Ugandans living in fear, on top of suffering great pain and being treated as animals for over the past three decades by Gen. Museveni.

Kyagulanyi also said that Gen. Museveni treats political opponents as his enemies, uses military to suppress, arrest, torture, and kill supporters of the National Unity Platform.

Kyagulanyi further told the summit that Uganda witnessed one of the most violent unfair elections in the world history in 2021. This is apparently because Gen. Museveni rigged the election and declared himself the winner.

He consequently asked the European powers to stand on the right side of history and halt any kind of funding to the government of Gen. Museveni.

He described the government as ‘illegitimate’ and added that it has caused nothing but suffering to the citizens.

Another supporter with twitter id @SirDanMagic1 also shared.

About the Summit

The Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy is a major conference that shines a spotlight on urgent human rights situations that require global attention. It gives heroes, activists, former political prisoners with a platform to testify about their struggles for political freedom.

The Summit is held around the annual session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, when foreign ministers gather in Geneva, to force critical issues onto the international agenda.
