Bobi Wine has blamed the government for failing to ensure health welfare for vulnerable citizens. He said this reacting to the police dispersing his wife who had gone to Kikamulo health centre III in Nakaseke.
The police used live bullets to disperse the crowds that were around Barbie Kyagulanyi. Apparently she had taken beds to this hospital to accommodate the sick.
In reaction to what took place, Barbie said that she did not know why police were unleashing teargas on them. According to her, they had not done nothing illegal.
The police though says they were so many and yet we are still in the Covid battle. Barbie though insists that her and the National Unity Platform MPs had gone to deliver relief items to teenage mothers in the area.
Meanwhile, Bobi Wine says the ministry of Education has failed to live up to their word. He says much as they promised to give sanitary pads to the girls, they have done nothing so far.
He insists that this is the cause of so many dropouts especially from families that are under privileged.
“As a result, many school girls from underprivileged families continue to drop out of school for lack of sanitary pads. Now beset with shame, the regime is keen on ensuring that no one else fulfils the basic duties it has failed to fulfil. Soon enough, we shall overcome this madness,” he wrote.
