Bobi Wine: Museveni Will Go Down In History As One Of The Biggest Liars

Bobi Wine Declines Talks With Museveni

The National Unity Platform party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine has ruled out any talks with President Museveni. He said that his political party has no plans of holding negotiation talks with the president.

According to Kyagulanyi, President Museveni’s concept of talks aims at weakening opposition leaders.

“It is about how much money or position he (Museveni) can offer you. We are unable to bargain our rights,” Kyagulanyi said.

He made these remarks during the NUP’s Mobilization Committee’s commissioning. This took place at the party’s new headquarters located in Kavule, Kampala.

The development came after news of the release of MPs Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammed Ssegirinya from prison. The two were reportedly released after reaching an agreement with President Museveni.

“If they made a deal with Museveni, that was a fake deal, and it may have taken place without our consent or knowledge,” Kyagulanyi declared.

Reports have it that Norbert Mao, the Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister negotiated the release of the MPs accused of murder. He apparently did this at the request of the families of the lawmakers.

Bobi Wine claimed that they have not talked about this issue in detail because they have not yet had a chance to meet and talk to the two MPs.

At the moment, the biggest challenge to Museveni’s grip on power remains to be Bobi Wine. And just like the incumbent, Bobi seems determined to run for president in 2026.

Yesterday, Kyagulanyi instructed NUP’s special committees to return to their districts to mobilize supporters.

“I am appreciative of our mobilization squad for a job well done. I gave them the assignment to be resolute despite the regime’s attempts to coerce or compromise them,” he said.
