The National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to reveal why government and President Museveni are bent on ‘demoralizing’ Arts teachers.
While addressing the recent arts teachers’ strike over salary increment, the ‘Kyarenga‘ Hit maker said that Museveni is afraid of Arts.
This is because they might produce another Bobi Wine to terrorize the government. According to Bobi Wine, this is the reason all dictators globally ban Arts subjects. This is because they would rather produce doctors who will be confined in hospitals.
“Dictators all over the world ban political education and arts because arts create people like me that are going to give them a headache. They would rather see the doctors confined in the hospitals,” he said.
He also cautioned Ugandans not to trust Museveni. This is because he never means what he says and never says what he means.
Bobi Wine talked about NUP ownership
The former Kyadondo east legislator also took time to address the NUP ownership crisis that’s been engulfing the party. Last month some veteran politicians led by Nkonge Kibalama opened up a new branch of the party in Kabowa.
According to the politician, what matters to them is not the name of the party, it’s rather the people. Kyagulanyi said that they are in firm control of the party which is the politcal wing of People Power.
“For us it’s not just the name of the party (NUP), it’s the people. In the end, we will be ‘People Power’ because ‘people power is our power’. NUP is the political wing of People Power and it’s a party that we are in firm control of.”
