The president of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has come under social media criticism after he attacked MPs, Hon Mathias Mpuuga and Hon Abed Bwanika during his London show.
During the performance of his song Matyansi Butyampa, the singer/politician changed the lyrics calling it freestyle. It’s no secret that at the time this song was released, he was attacking fellow singer Bebe Cool, his father.
Bidandi Ssali and the Kiwoko Boys who were in Gagamel at the time. However this time, the lyrics were directed at the MPs who he referred to as little dogs afraid of him.
The song lyrics translate into these little dogs coiling their tails in fear and shame after meeting him- Omubanda wa Kabaka.
His audience was nonetheless fired up and enjoyed the diss but not different opinions on social media. Many have branded the singer politically immature.
“I have seen a clip from Bobi Wine’s show in London where he attacks Mpuuga and Abed Bwanika for straying from the so-called struggle. At some point, it gets too personal (what do Mpuuga’s suits and his English got to do with the struggle?). Not surprisingly, the crowd loved it but this was so low-bro. With my many years of covering politics, I have not seen this level of political & emotional immaturity from someone aspiring to cause change & lead this country. Bobi Wine has to move on from the Mpuuga saga, where he clearly has the upper hand,” one of the vocal voices in journalist Edris Kiggundu noted.
But as the saying goes, not all can hate a person, it was the case for Bobi Wine. Many of his supporters have come out to defend him against all costs.
