Kyagulanyi’s remarks came shortly after the president tweeted about meeting a section of coordinators and opposition members at State House Entebbe.
During the meeting, Museveni stated that he appreciated the views from the opposition on the different failures of the NRM party. He also stated that he assured them that those problems shall be addressed together as a team.
Responding to the tweet, Kyagulanyi said Museveni has always paraded random individuals claiming to have crossed from opposition to NRM. He, however, said this time that it is not true.
‘’This election thief and despot is so desperate to cleanse himself. He fails to realize how late it is for him. In the last elections, they went as far as getting soldiers, and dressing them in NUP T-shirts. This was so that they could say our people were crossing over (to NRM),’’ Kyagulanyi wrote.
He also added that at times they will get one sell-out for the optics and parade him or her with other random people. He said it is very important for the people to know how dictators operate.
Furthermore, Kyagulanyi claims that the president is right now under pressure with criminal charges over his head at ICC.
‘’He is preparing to swear himself in illegally next week and of course, he is too ashamed. He now has to pull off some of these desperate theatrics to portray himself in better light before the very citizens he has butchered in cold blood, kidnapped and subjected to all manner of torture and humiliation,’’ Kyagulanyi noted.
