‘Deepest condolences to the people of Tanzania and the people of East Africa upon losing this noble statesman.

As President of Tanzania, His Excellency Benjamin Mkapa made his contribution to his country and retired peacefully, hence deepening democracy and good governance in that country. For not giving in to greed and clinging onto power, he deserves to be celebrated by all of us who love democracy.

President Mkapa also a Pan-African who championed the integration of East Africa and Africa. We remember and appreciate him for his great work.
