Apparently, Zaake is still detained at SIU Kireka but the sworn Hon. Paul Mwiru is the only person allowed to meet him in custody. But according to what Bobi Wine, he is disappointed after Paul claimed that he was badly tortured with bruises all over his face.
Bobi wine’s statement
“In an affidavit sworn by Hon. Paul Mwiru who was the only one permitted to see Hon. Zaake while at SIU Kireka, “Hon. Zaake was visibly frail. His face was thoroughly bruised. His shirt was torn to threads. His joints were swollen. Bits of flesh hang off his chest as though someone had attempted to randomly pluck them out with a fork but stopped midway. He could not see. He could not stand.”The pictures of Hon. Zaake in court were very disturbing to watch yesterday. As we continue doing everything to secure his freedom, let’s reflect on what country we want our children to grow up in. The regime has tried to normalise violence. IT IS NOT NORMAL. IT IS OUTRAGEOUS, and we shall fight on until we have our freedom!” Bobi Wine posted.
Hon Zaake Francis was arrested after being found distributing food to people in his constituency, something which he knew was against president’s guidelines on fighting the deadly virus. It is strictly attempted murder.
The president however advised all politicians to stop creating fertile grounds for the spread of coronavirus by calling people to gather in the name of giving them food. If you genuinely have a contribution to make, get in touch with the national task force that is in charge and we shall be grateful In return, you can as well gain your popularity, we shall record your name and give you all the publicity you want, even if you want to sleep on TV. Most importantly God will recognize and reward you,’said president Museveni.
