Robert Kyagulanyi, 36 Others Face 5 More Criminal Charges

On Tuesday, the Nation struck 5 more criminal charges against Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known by his stage names Bobi Wine together with other 36 suspects, following the alleged stoning of Museveni’s car in 2018 during the political rally in Arua District.

At first, the 37 suspects were charged of treason, alarming, provoking and mocking president Museveni.

They have been slapped with new criminal charges including inciting violence, refusing to obey lawful orders, confusion or disorderly in public meeting, blocking the flow of traffic and going armed in specific places.

Robert Kyagulanyi was charged with provoking president Museveni in relation to similar case, according to his lawyer Basalirwa Asuman.

All the accused denied the new charges before grade one magistrate, Imran Kintu Isaac, who extended their bail indefinitely.

The magistrate also forwarded them to High Court, meaning they are meant to wait until when the registrar of Gulu High Court will list the case file for proceedings.

Other suspects include MP for Mityana Hon Zaake Francis, MP for Jinja Hon Mwiru paul, MP for Ntungamo Hon Karuhanga Gerald and Ssebuwufu John Mary and Mabikke Micheal.
