Bobi Wine Warns His Party Members About Being Diverted By President Museveni

National Unity Platform leader Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has warned his party members especially the MPs about being diverted from their struggle by President Museveni.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting in which NUP leaders under the LOP Hon Mathias Mpuuga launched the Legislative Agenda at Parliament.

Kyagulanyi said many regime apologists often accuse them of not having alternative policy proposals. Bobi Wine however said that their critics do this in bad faith. He then went ahead to encourage everyone to read the policy alternative launched.

Bobi Wine implored all NUP MPs to keep in mind the environment in which they operate.

He further said that no matter how good their policy alternatives are, they won’t achieve anything till they address the question of governance. Kyagulanyi added that once they address this, then they will be able to implement their policy alternative.

In his own words, Kyagulanyi said that “I therefore charge MPs and all leaders to remain committed to the cause of removing the dictatorship which holds our country captive.”

The former presidential candidate also said that every dictator strives to get a few opposition leaders and ensure that they are comfortable. Kyagulanyi further added that dictatorship is all about pleasing a few leaders at the expense of the majority.

“While he steals trillions, he occasionally throws at them crumbs in the hope that they will be diverted. My hope and prayer is that our leaders will look beyond the temporary comfort. And work for a country where every citizen will have an opportunity to live in peace and with dignity”. Kyagulanyi wrote on his Facebook page.

He concluded by thanking the parliamentary leadership of NUP who made the event successful.
