Boda Boda Riders Lynch Former UN Driver In Mengo For Knocking Their Colleague

Police in Kampala has opened an investigation into the murder of a 40-year-old former United Nations driver. A group of Boda Boda cyclists in Mengo are said to have lynched him for knocking one of their fellow cyclists.

Apparently, Aziz Bashir had a minor accident with an unidentified Boda Boda rider who scratched his car, a Toyota Allex.

‘’He got out of the vehicle but failed to agree with the motorcycle rider. It is from there that two motorcycles shielded the rider who was involved in a traffic accident with Bashir. The rider left the scene but the deceased pursued the alleged rider, he knocked another motorcyclist,’’ Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said

According to police, a group of riders intercepted Bashir as he approached Lyna Primary School. They then pulled him out of the car and beat him to death.

More to that, police said they managed to arrest two suspects and detained them at Old Kampala Police station.

Police have now embarked on viewing CCTV footage to identify the riders who could have carried out the criminal act. Police recovered Bashir’s body and took it to the city mortuary at Mulago for a postmortem.
