Borders, Airports Open Today After Six Months Of Closure

Today the borders and airports start operating again after being closed for 6 months. The president during his latest address gave a go ahead to the functioning of these places to let especially citizens in from the different countries they have been stuck in since March. However the main emphasis was on tourists so as to boost tourism industry.

The tourism industry has been operating in losses ever since the borders and airport were closed due to COVID 19. The opening of these now brings some life to the economy. They can now start earning some revenue for the country. Definitely, its not going to be as it was because of the set health SOPs. Every one who comes in the country must have tested negative for COVID in the last 72 hours.

Tourists are expected to keep themselves when they come. They are not to fully engage with the people as it has usually been. The only people expected to be around them are the tour guides. And essential workers in that area or related field. This may not be good enough but it is good for now because it opens more doors for the economy that was slowly decaying.

Of course this is also very good news for the people who have been stuck in other countries longing to come back. The government however will not incur any costs in bringing them back as they have to meet every cost for their arrival. This is pretty expensive given the fact that most of them had no work during this time.
