BREAKING NEWS: Singer Evelyn Lagu Dead

Breaking news coming in indicates that singer Evelyn Lagu has died. News sources confirmed the singer died this morning. It should be noted that the Ogumanga singer was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and other heart complications a few years back.

She started receiving treatment and has constantly been in and out of hospital.

Evelyn Lagu two years back traveled to Turkey for a kidney transplant but this was unsuccessful. Instead, she was put on injections to sustain her life.

It should also be noted that several well-wishers including several musicians joined in the struggle to help her salvage her life as they did a fundraiser for her. Sadly this couldn’t help much as the damage was on a advanced stage.

By the time of her death, she had made several signs of recuperating. She even a few weeks ago got back on stage and performed for her fans in Makindye.

Taking to his social media pages, the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, Eddy Kenzo said that he couldn’t believe it.

“We took these pictures last Tuesday at the Jam session and I can’t believe you’re gone, dear Evelyn Lagu. You have fought a big battle my sister. May your soul rest in peace,” he said alongside photos of him and Lagu.
