Bright Stars Eye Third Straight Win Over Mbarara City FC

Bright Stars will on Friday be attempting to win their third game in a row against Mbarara City FC as the two sides meet later today.

The Stars did a double over the Ankole Lions, one which included a 1-0 victory at Kakyeka.

Back then, Baker Mbowa’s side appeared to be in a scintillating form and eventually finished in the top five of the Uganda Premier League.

However, it may be hard to replicate that sort of form especially after two important departures in the recently concluded transfer window.

Top scorer Samuel Ssekamate left and so did the top assist maker Joseph Akandwanaho.

The Kavumba-based side however has made its own additions to the team including the return of Nelson Ssenkatuka.

Nelson emerged as the top scorer for the side in each of his last two seasons. He will definitely be the man to lead the d=Bright Stars’ line this season

Apparently, if Nelson is the man he used to be two years ago then Mbarara Lions are in for a very long afternoon today.

However, the Lions are usually impossible to defeat while at their home and hopefully this will help them through the game.

This is going to be the 9th meeting between the two sides since September 2017. In the previous meetings, Bright Stars won three of the encounters.

The Lions have won two and the rest of the games all ended in draws.
