Bright Stars Hope To Avenge Cup Loss To Police FC

Soltilo Bright Stars will be excited to avenge the Stanbic Uganda Cup elimination as they face off with Police FC later today at Lugogo. The Bright Stars suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of Police at the same venue which paved way for their elimination at the round of 16. In the return leg, they won the match 1-0 but despite this win, the damage had already been done in the first game.

Later today, the Bright Stars will be all out to beat the Cops to consolidate the fifth position on the log. Through this, they will also be opening up a five-point gap over Abdallah Mubiru’s side.

Mubiru’s side comes into the game in a bad form after failing to win any of their last 6 games. The Stars, on the other hand, have won two of their last five games, lost one, and drawn the rest.

Today’s main focus will be on former Police FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale, striker Samuel Ssekamatte and winger Joseph Akandwanaho for the visitors. For the Police side, the visitors should watch out for Ben Ocen, returning Frank Tumwesigye Zaga, and Tony Mawejje.

The reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw with Brian Mayanja scoring a brace for the visitors to cancel out another by Ssekamatte.
