Musa says he got the beating the moment he started inquiring on this issue. According to him, the police beat him on orders of Deputy CID Kibuku, whom he identified as Stephen Bangire. Musa says the moment he introduced himself as a journalist, the police wasted no time in yanking him. As if this wasn’t enough, they threw him out like a thief in bad shape.
Good Samaritans are the ones who came to his rescue to rush him to a nearby clinic. However, Kamoi says he had never experienced such a thing with the police.
“I have been covering stories about police for a long time but never experienced any unfortunate incident like what has happened to me onEid day.”
He also says he has to take legal action against the police for such brutality. The regional police spokesman Bukedi North, Clement Lebbo on getting this report said he is going to look into it.
“I got a report about the incident but am yet to be briefed fully by the officials at the police station on why they assaulted the journalist,” he said.
