Buganda Premier C. P Mayiga Warns All Those Threatening Buganda

The Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga has warned all decedents who are apparently threatening the stability of Buganda and its people.

A few days ago, a video of an enraged Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny-Dollo criticizing the manner in which Baganda are behaving has set the frequency for the talk.

Owiny-Dollo who appeared so angry questioned why the Baganda never protested when their unentitled cultural leader Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi was flown to Germany for treatment aboard a presidential jet and public funds.

He wondered why there were never any protests about this. Yet there were protests in Seattle where they had hospitalized the late Hon Jacob Oulanyah.

He questioned why there is cruelty directed towards his kinsmen. The video has created a lot of public uproar, especially among the Baganda who feel questioning their ethnic leader is an abomination.

The clip posted didn’t bring about the CJ’s entire speech.

Another video that many are not showing enough however shows the CJ criticizing the partisan Baganda politicians.

He further says that he grew up in Buganda and he knows the tribe as one of the most welcoming. Most of his dependable friends are in the region. It, therefore, hurts him to see opportunistic leaders demonizing the tribe.

He therefore implored all the opinionated leaders to come out and criticize such behavior, lest it will lead the Baganda into an abyss that Northern Uganda is still recovering from.

Apparently, this happened after their failure to control propagandists.

While appearing at a certain function, Buganda’s Katikkiro appeared to respond to all the threats aimed at the kingdom.

Mayiga said that the Baganda are not vegetables or a walkover. Anybody, therefore, daring them will know who they truly are.

“We have some people threatening us but they should know that we are so tough. I always tell people that Buganda is a rock. We are not vegetables, we shall not wither away. We don’t need to be dipped in water to survive. We’re a rock, whether sunshine or rain, we still remain standing strong. They find and leave us there,” Mayiga said.
