Bukwo LC5 Julius Chelimo Faces Fresh Aggrevated Defilement Chaarge

The LC5 of Bukwo district, Julius Chelimo, is on remand in Luzira prison and faces a death penalty if convicted of aggravated trafficking in children. He is now facing new charges of aggravated defilement. The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has commenced investigations into these cases. The former Bukwo district LX5 could face life imprisonment if he is found guilty.

Apparently, the facts gathered indicate that before Chelimo’s arrest in October, the accused defiled a young girl. One of Chelimo’s accomplices known as Joshua Kwemoi lured a 16-year-old girl from one of the schools in Bukwo and allegedly defiled her.

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, made these revelations on Monday while addressing the press in Naguru.

The 16-year-old was lured by Kwemoi and he took her to Felix Chelimo, a friend of the LC5 chairperson. This is where the girl was allegedly defiled, Enanga said. He further revealed that the police successfully arrested Kwemoi and Felix Chelimo who allegedly facilitated the defilement and played a role in the trafficking.
