Pride has been one of the lead causes of unfulfilled love lately. Leave alone the cheating, it is still a problem, yes, but pride has taken over. With this in mind, before starting any relationship, can your love rise above pride? If you’re still struggling with pride, it’s better to first deal with it before letting another person in.
You just can’t count the number of love stories that have ended just because of pride. This happens a lot for people who have been relating for long, one party feels they should be begged. First of all, it’s very disrespectful to even put your partner in such a position. Why would you make the person you love plead for you? This is simply a sign to show something is wrong with you.
You will find two people fighting not to be the ones to text first, call first among others. Every time the two of you reach such a state and decide to let it grow, you’re killing your love. One thing you should know is, there is always someone after your partner. Consequently, this pride drama we play leads them into the hands of another. Unfortunately, by the time we wake up to bend low, doors are being slammed in your face.
The questions you need to ask before you start relating;
Am I ready to say sorry when am wrong?
Am I willing to work on my weak points to live with my partner?
Am I ready to settle issues before they get out of hand?
Those questions are important because they help you know whether you’re ready to date or not. The bottom line is, there can never be love where pride is and that is the fact.
