Cardinal Wamala Draws Attention At Kiyinda-Mityana Anniversary Celebration

The 40th-anniversary celebration of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kiyinda-Mityana took place on Sunday. Cardinal Wamala was among a list of those who graced the event.

One stunning aspect of the function happened to be the presence of Archbishop Emeritus of Kampala, His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Dr. Wamala.

Apparently, the Christians never expected the cardinal to grace the function.

Therefore, upon seeing him, they all became elated. A big number of them even made their way to his seat after mass to greet him and also to get his blessings.

Wamala happened to be the pioneer Bishop of Kiyinda-Mityana. He was consecrated on November 22, 1981, the inauguration day of the diocese.

Consequently, as the diocese celebrated the ruby jubilee of its inception, he celebrated the ruby jubilee of his episcopate.

Meanwhile, In another story, the former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stanley Ntagali, publicly asked for forgiveness from the church and all Ugandans. This is after he admitted that he committed adultery saying that it is the devil that made him do it.

Ntagali made the remarks in front of 36 bishops at St. Paul’s cathedral Namirembe as the Church of Uganda marked 60 years of self-governance.
