Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his super team might be a problem for him to manage. The Los Blancos have a star-stacked team on paper. However, the problem comes when the lineup is read.
This was very visible in their La Liga opening match against Mallorca. The capital club thought they were in for an easy night after Rodrygo gave them a first-half lead in the 13th minute.
However, they failed to take advantage despite the many chances created and Mallorca eventually equalized in the 53rd minute through Vedat Muriqi.
Speaking at the post-game press conference, Carlo Ancelotti admitted that the team lacked balance. He added that he’s not happy with a draw. However, it seems very clear where they have a problem and need to improve in the upcoming games.
“We lacked balance. I am not happy with the draw because we could have done better. We needed more attitude. We can learn a lot from this game because it seems clear where we could have a problem.”
Real Madrid apparently has a lot of superstars up front. The club has Brazilians, Vini Jr and Rodrygo. There is also Jude Bellingham and new signing Kylian Mbappe. This is not to mention a whole host of other stars such as Endrick, Brahim Diaz, Luka Modric.
It’s, therefore, going to be a tough job for the Italian manager to see how he fits this team, especially the attacking quartet into his starting lineup. It would have been easier if Mbappe was a pure nine but the Frenchman is a hybrid of a winger and a striker.
He’s not the sort of a goal poacher who will wait in the box for the ball. And neither can Vini, Rodrygo or Bellingham play as strikers.
