Some Buganda natives however believe the singer doomed his own concert. A number of reasons were given why the concert got stopped but this was largely attributed to the heavy torrential rains.
A female native said that Gwanga Mujje was a phrase used in summoning people in times of danger. As a believer in culture and traditions, she thinks this could have contributed to the mishap.
“Gwanga Mujje was a phrase that used to be applied when there was a danger. It was for summoning people in Buganda culture. And maybe or maybe not, he himself could have jeopardized the concert ignorantly,” she said.
Another Buganda native too attributed Chameleone’s misfortunes to the choice of concert name. According to him, Gwanga Mujje is a drum in Kiganda culture.
This was always sounded in times of problems to summon people. He, therefore, believes the Valu Valu singer doomed his own concert.
Chameleone did summon the nation, however, things didn’t turn out quite as planned.
“In our culture, Gwanga Mujje is a drum that was always sounded to summon people in times of danger. I’m not saying this led to Chameleone’s misfortunes but it could have partly contributed. He summoned the nation but for bad news. We have names in our culture that you name your child and they end up shaping their destiny,” this native said.
Meanwhile, this concert was postponed to the 24th of this month at the same venue. It’s only the dates that changed but everything remained the same.
There is now however a bit of doubt that the concert could yet fail to go ahead. This is due to the fact that there is a lot of conspiracy theories lingering over it, especially to bad omens.
