The cranes come in second with eight points and are followed by Malawi with 7 points. South Sudan is placed at the bottom of the group with only 3 points.
This draw, for the Cranes, means that they will need at least a point from their last game with Malawi if they are to qualify. However, if Malawi wins this game, it means the cranes will not qualify for the Afcon tournament next year.
The game started sluggishly for the Cranes as Burkina Faso thrived slightly over them in the opening 45 minutes. The performance, however, changed for the cranes in the second half. This is after Moses Waiswa and Ibrahim Orit came into the game.
Farouk Miya and Joseph Ochaya had great opportunities to seal the deal for the Cranes but missed these chances.
On Sunday, the Cranes will travel to Malawi ahead of Monday’s 2021 AFCON clash. Meanwhile, Burkina Faso will host South Sudan.
