Chelsea Approach Napoli For Victor Osimhen Ahead Of The Transfer Window Deadline

As clubs scramble for new signings in the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window deadline which is tonight at 11pm UK time, Chelsea have approached Napoli for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian has made it clear that he wants out of Napoli for this season. He has been sidelined for Napoli’s opening Serie A games. This is after he fell out with the club’s hierarchy last season.

Chelsea which has made several signings in the transfer that have even left many mocking it is not yet done.

According to sports and transfer journalists, the Blues have approached the Gli Azzuri for the former Lille striker. However, Enzo Maresca’s club are not willing to buy the Nigerian but only offering a loan deal with a buy option clause.

The London club is not the only team that has been courting interest from the 26-year-old. Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are also said to be at the conclusion of negotiations with the Italian side. Al Ahli will however move ahead with the deal if negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea fail.

“Chelsea have approached Napoli tonight to submit an official bid for Victor Osimhen. Loan with OBLIGATION to buy. Meanwhile, Chelsea discuss salary terms with Victor. Al Ahli are at the final stages of talks with Napoli! But deal ONLY happens if Chelsea talks collapse”.

The Blues are however believed to be the front runners for the 2022-23 Serie A Golden Boot winner as he prefers to stay in Europe. On the other hand, the Saudi Pro League side is offering him a mouthwatering salary of 160m Euros over 4 years.
