Two children lose there arms in North California beach due to shark’s attack

A 13-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy were both under a separate shark attacks yesterday and each lost an arm on the Oak Island a home of about 7,000 residents which population swells to about 2500 people during summer due to beach visitors in North California.

Betty Wallace the Oak Island Mayor said that the female was attacked at 4: 15pm and in less than 90 minutes another attack was done to the male even before the female victim was cared of, the incident occurred at the high tide in the vicinity of the ocean crest pier a popular destination among the beach visitors especially at this time were the beach is packed by visitors.

Both Victims were airlifted to New Hanover regional medical center in Wilmington and they were in a critical condition with both having an arm amputated below the shoulder of a boy and at the elbow of the girl with serious tissue damage to her leg according to Martha Harlen the spokes woman of the hospital.

The mayor of the Oak Island said that the sharks attack were rare on this beach Island and she couldn’t recall any shark attack before Sunday.

People within the Island have become timorous of the situation but the Sheriff’s office will have monitoring helicopters on the coastline and the beach will remain open on monday said by the Fire chief Chris Anselmo.
