This has been going on for a long time and it looks like promoters are tired of being disrespected by artistes yet they pay them so much money.
A few days ago, through the Uganda Promoters Association, a document was released on social media. This showed the fixed prices for artistes’ booking in Uganda. The highest artiste was to be paid 20 million while the lowest was to be paid just 400k – 700k.
Some artists were not happy with the fixed price. However, singer Chozen Blood looks to have understood why promoters are setting a standard price.
According to Chozen Blood, some artists don’t value and disrespect their bookings. This is even when they have already been paid.
However, Chozen Blood said artistes and promoters should come to an agreement at all times. They should make sure there is still respect for each other.
He said as an artiste, he can’t perform at any event if he feels like he can’t deliver what fans are expecting from him.
“Yes, some artists don’t value or respect their bookings, which may be why promoters came to this conclusion, but everything comes back to the agreement. I personally can never perform if I am not going to deliver,” she said.
