Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga summoned the old man while addressing the media for further investigation. Oulanyah’s father claimed that his son told him they had poisoned him.
“We are therefore summoning all those persons with other causes of death including poisoning for further interview and statement recording. These will include Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi who also mentioned Hon.Chris Baryomunsi, Hon. Gilbert Olanya, Hon. Santa Okot, Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert, mzee Nathan Okori and Bosmic Otim,” police spokesperson Fred Enanga told journalists on Monday.
However, Baryomunsi says they should have accorded some respect to the late Speaker’s dad.
“Is it right to summon a Minister through a press conference? Some respect should be accorded. Even the summoning of the father of the late Jacob Oulanyah, they should have handled it differently. You do not summon him through a press conference.”
The Minister said this while on a late night show on NBS TV. Meanwhile, as the government, he says they are standing by the doctor’s report on Oulanyah’s cause of death.
“I promised the country that when the body of the late Jacob Oulanyah lands in Uganda, the government would release a medical report. The government stands by the medical report that was released by the doctors who treated him here and in Seattle.”
