While appearing in a YouTube interview, Tinashe was asked about her collaborations with singers R.Kelly and Chris Brown.
The American Zimbabwean singer did a song “Let’s Be Real Now” that was assisted by the incarcerated Kelly. She would also hop onto a collabo with Breezy in 2015 named Embarrassing.
While appearing on the Zach Sang show, she said that she regrets ever working with R.Kelly and in fact that song doesn’t exist in her mind.
For Chris Brown, the idea to work with him wasn’t her own but the label’s. And she also feels it didn’t add anything to her.
“I literally block out that R. Kelly song from my mind. I forget that it even exists,” she said of the Kelly track. “That is so unreal that I even have a song with R. Kelly. That’s so embarrassing.”
“That was a song that we all wanted it to be this big moment, this big single. So I feel like, in their mind, they were like, ‘You need the support,” she recalled. “He was the biggest artist that they had on rhythmic radio at the time. To me, I was like, ‘Well, this is a pop song. So, I really don’t feel like we should put Chris on it.’ That doesn’t compute to me, but I don’t know.”
Taking to his Instagram stories, the singer/songwriter/actor and dancer posted a caption asking to name 4 Tinashe songs. He added that she’s full of evil and her career doesn’t even exist. Additionally, he said that with all the big singers she sang with, none could save her career.
“NAME 5 TINASHE songs or die….[Looking eyes emoji] EVERYBODY DEAD [skull emoji],” he wrote.
“She full of dat evil. Shawty career is nonexistent,” he wrote. “What’s more embarrassing is that she worked with all these people and not one us could save her career.”
Both R Kelly and Chris are extremely talented and have had their lives and careers dragged in the mud for different reasons. R.Kelly is behind bars for life on different charges including sexually abusing minors.
Chris Brown on the other hand has been accused of domestic abuse severally especially during his relationship with singer Rihanna several years ago.
