Ethics and Integrity minister, Fr Simon Lokodo, is drafting a new policy to guide activities of churches in the country following an outcry by Ugandans on the behaviour of self-styled Prophet, Elvis Mbonye.

Lokodo told plenary on Thursday presided over by deputy speaker, Jacob Oulanyah, that a policy on churches and other places of worship will be laid.
“All mushrooming churches will be registered,” Lokodo said.
This followed a statement by Internal Affairs minister, Jeje Odongo, who attributed Wakiso killings of women to ritual sacrifice and works of illuminati cult that sacrifices people to the devil for riches.
Aruu County MP, Hon. Odonga Otto, urged members not to down play the role of places of worship in this witchcraft issue.
“I saw people kissing shoes,” Otto said in reference to journalist Joseph Kabuleta who was photographed kissing Mbonye’s feet.
Kabuleta has since defended himself saying he trusts the spiritual authority of the prophet which is reportedly stronger than that of the catholic Pope in Rome, Italy.
But Mbonye who is on the spotlight over sorcery, witchcraft and fraudulent miracles, believes he is making an impact instead.
