Eddy Kenzo formed Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) with a fellow singer Sheebah who is also her deputy.
When they unveiled it to the public, they started inviting their fellows for meetings. Kenzo said the main reason for the Federation is to work on the Copyright law which hasn’t been favoring them.
By that time, Cindy as the president of UMA was in her break from the industry after welcoming her third child.
Upon returning, she was very angry at Eddy Kenzo and other musicians that are working with him. She said they stole ideas from Uganda Musicians Association (UMA).
According to her, they have nothing new they are saying because even the Copyright law, UMA has been working on.
The singer said it is actually in its final stages. She, therefore, wouldn’t like to see Eddy Kenzo and his federation own it as if they fought for it.
Cindy said she has no problem with fellow UMA members joining Eddy Kenzo’s federation. But as a person, the only thing that will make her join is Eddy Kenzo showing her the proper documents.
The king herself said she doesn’t believe the Federation is fully registered and their intentions are about helping the music industry.
“I am a president of UMA and we were told to federate. But I don’t trust Eddy Kenzo’s federation. The only thing that will make me join the federation is looking at all the documents and making sure they are doing the right thing,” she said.
