Coopy Bly’s parents’ home was demolished early this month. It went viral on social media but no details about it were shared on social media.
There are increasing land problems in Uganda and most of them are family-related while others are political problems.
For Coopy, as a family, they have been having problems with fellow family members over the land their house was on. He said there is an auntie of theirs who has been a problem and she is the one that ordered the demolishing of their house.
The singer said their father is in his retirement years and instead of having peace of mind, he is busy fighting land wrangles.
The talented singer said as a family they are working on resolving the issues and making sure everything is back to normal like it used to be 20 years ago.
“I was surprised to see my parents’ house demolished especially by a family member like my auntie. We grew up in that house but it is now no more. My father who is supposed to retire peacefully is now having land problems,” he said.
It should be noted that land wrangles is a very common vice these days. Even just buying land has become a tough issue. Due diligence is required before anyone purchases land, lest they buy a plot is already sold.
