Covid Cases On The Rise Again, Ministry Of Health Warns Ugandans

Ministry of Health has warned Ugandans about the rising of Covid cases again. Results conducted yesterday showed that 155 cases were registered. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases to 44,074 cases. Due to this, the ministry of health has advised Ugandans to adhere to the SOPs before things go back to where they were.

“The number of new COVID-19 cases have increased with a number of people dying. Adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs.
DO NOT BE PART OF THE COVID-19 STATISTICS.” The tweet reads.

Furthermore, they went ahead to even break down the areas that registered more cases in yesterday’s results.

“The breakdown of the new cases are:
154 contacts and Alerts: Kampala (119) Gulu (10) Wakiso (12) Mbale (4) Jinja (1) Tororo (2) Mbale (1)Nakaseke (1) Yumbe (1) Amuru (2) Busia (1), 1 Truck Drivers: Tororo (1).”

Apparently, all the ICU rooms meant for covid patients have been filled to capacity. Currently, the ongoing campaign is for people to get the vaccination. Especially those above 50 and those working in risky places. The ministry also advises those with health complications to seek vaccination. The 2nd dose for those who took the first jab arrived a few days ago.

However, there is no assurance that this vaccine shields you from contracting the virus but it helps you not to be as weak. Unfortunately, though, people are no longer taking the SOPs as serious. People move with no masks and even the washing of hands stopped way back.

There was information from WHO that in the month of June, the world may have to face a horrifying second wave. Museveni has also been threatening to call for another lockdown if people fail to behave.
